A Natural

If the first two cards has a total score of 8 or 9 this is called a Natural.

A Cheval

In some private baccarat games there is a common rule where the Player can play two hands - to win he must win on both hands. If he wins one hand and looses the other its a tie.

Baccarat

Baccarat is the name of the game Baccarat. Baccarat is a Italian word and it means Zero - zero is the worst hand you can get in baccarat.

Baccarat en Banque

Another variant of Baccarat.

Banker Bet

A bet placed on the Banker's hand beating the Players hand.

Banko

Banko is only another name for the Bank. By announcing ‘Banko’ during a private baccarat game a player can challenge the Bankers entire bankroll by announcing 'Banko'.

Bankroll

Refers to all the money you bring to the table.

Best Baccarat Bet

This is a bet on the Banker - chances of winning are 45.84%.

Chemin-de-fer

A variant of baccarat - the name means railroad.

Commission

The casino takes a 5% commission on winning bets on Banker.

Coupe

A single round of baccarat.

Dealer

A casino employee who is dealing the cards and handling bets - paying winners and so on.

Le Grande

A hand with the value 9 - the best possible hand in baccarat. Grand is French for Big.

Muck

This is a term used about all the cards - normally 8 decks or cards. Adding up to 416 cards.

Petite

A hand with the value 8 - petite is French for 'small'.

Player Bet

A bet placed on the Players hand beating the dealers hand.

Punto Banko

Just another name for the baccarat game.

Railroad

A variant of baccarat - also called chemin-de-fer.

Shoe

The shoe is where the cards are dealt from.

Shooter

Slang for the Bank.

Standoff

A Tie - the value of the dealer and players hands are the same.

Streak

A winning streak or a loosing streak.

Super Pan Nine

Another variant of Baccarat is called Super Pan Nine.

Tie Bet

It's possible to bet on a tie among the Banker and the Player.
